FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Can Transmissions Really Feed Hungry Children? One Local Business Believes They Can. Can feeding the hungry be synonymous with AAMCO Transmissions? Jeff and Tammie Arms of the newly opened AAMCO Transmission, at 1117 Lancaster Ave, believe it could be. They have teamed up with The Incarnation Lutheran Church to develop the 1st Annual AAMCO Food Drive to kick off their grand opening on September 29, 2007. This event will support the Lutheran Church’s efforts to supply food to underprivileged families in the Reading area. They have been able to feed over 56 families in the last month alone. The event kicks off with a live radio feed at 10 AM featuring Y102’s Jackie Hoffman. At 11 AM Senator Mike O’Pake and Mayor Tom McMahon will be present for the ribbon cutting ceremony. Prizes including t-shirts, mugs, hats, and signature AAMCO services will be given throughout the day to those who donate more than 5 pounds of food. Food donations will be accepted throughout the week leading up to the 6th of October. Grace Kautz the head of the food pantry of the Incarnation Church states “The majority of individuals in need are children and elderly. There are certain items that are in greater demand and while all donations are appreciated, toiletries, rice, flour, paper towels, canned goods, especially soup would be most helpful.” “Being new to the community, we could not think of any better way to introduce ourselves than helping our neighbors in need,” AAMCO owners Jeffrey and Tammie Arms said, in a joint statement. “We feel this is just a small part of what AAMCO can do for the Reading area.” While this center may be new to Lancaster Ave, AAMCO Transmissions have been rebuilding quality transmissions for over 45 years.
